Race 6) 1 Demoiselle S. Grade II. Purse $300,000 FOR FILLIES TWO
Post Time: ( 2:20)/ 1:20/12:20/11:20
Exacta; Trifecta (.50); Super (.10); Pick 3 Races (6-8) / Grand Slam Races
(6-9); Mandatory Payout Pick 5 (.50) Races (6-10) / Double Wagers
Jamyson and Ginger (4): Irad Ortiz, Jr has rode all three of Rudy Rod’s horses in this race and elects to ride this one. She was the victim of a bad ride in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and is much the one to beat here.
Bonita Bianca (6): Has been impressive in each of her two starts but now will have to face open company as opposed to the NY-breds she has beaten in her first two.
Miss Sky Warrior (2): Winner of the local prep and is a logical player here but will face a deeper field with the Rodriquez entries.
Race 8) 1 Mile Remsen S. Grade II. Purse $300,000 FOR TWO YEAR OLDS.
Post Time: ( 3:20)/ 2:20/ 1:20/12:20; Exacta; Trifecta (.50); Super (.10); Pick 3 Races (8-10); Double Wagers
Takaful (4): The first out effort was dazzling and it looks like Kiaran McLaughlin has 2-year-old who will look to stamp himself as a contender for this year’s Derby.
Mo Town (8): To me this is the only horse that has a chance to beat Takaful, his maiden score was super impressive and the extra distance should not bother him.
Hookup (3): Was very impressive first out and will be a player if he takes another step forward.
Race 10) 1 Mile Cigar Mile H. Grade I. Purse $500,000 A HANDICAP FOR
THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. Post Time: ( 4:20)/ 3:20/ 2:20/ 1:20
Exacta; Trifecta (.50); Super (.10) Wagers
Divining Rod (10): This is my favorite horse on the card and you should get a solid price on him. There are many reasons to like him, he is coming into the race in the best form he has been since the spring of 2015. The speed in the race should set it up perfect for him to come flying late.
Economic Model (2): The mile distance is perfect for him and he should be able to work a perfect trip from an inside post.
Anchor Down (1): I have never been a big fan of his but he proved me wrong when winning the Kelso at Belmont and then have the horse he beat come back to win the Dirt Mile at Breeders’ Cup.
Ocean Knight (5): A big step up in class for this one but he has been in great form and McLaughlin does not place his horses where they are without a shot.
