TSV Staff Selection —-

PENN NATIONAL

Race 9), 1 Mile. (Turf) Penn Mile S. Grade II. Purse $500,000 FOR
THREE-YEAR-OLDS
Post Time: ( 7:45)/ 6:45/ 5:45/ 4:45

Bronson (2), Pletcher/Gaffalione; out of Medaglia d’ Oro, colt has won two of his last three, taking the English Channel Stakes last out at Gulfstream; for trainer Pletcher, a last winner hits at a strong 27 percent.

Big Score (7), Yakteen/Castellano; out of Mr. Big, this colt has looked impressive in his two starts this year, winning the G3 Transylvania, and a tough third last out the Grade 2 American Turf. Anything close to those efforts and they’re all running for second.

Frostmourne (8), Clement/Ortiz, Jr; you can’t dismiss anything from the Clement barn when they hit the grass, and certainly not this Speightstown colt. Rounding into now, he closed out his juvenile season with a win over Belmont overnight company, and exits a tough second in an Aqueduct stakes; Ortiz stays.

Cistron (4), Sadler/Lopez; this John Sadler conditioned colt by The Factor enters in strong turf form, placing last out coming down the fabled Santa Anita hill along with a pair of firsts and thirds there and at Del Mar; should get a share.

OTHERS ENTERED:

Shiraz (1), Maker/Carmouche
Bonus Points (1a), Pletcher/Bisono
Prize Fight (1x), Maker/Carmouche
Time to Travel (3), Matz/Prado
Mo Maverick (5), Weaver/Lynch
Holiday Stone (6), Weaver/Saez

Selections: 2, 7, 8, 4
