As rain falls in Saratoga Springs there is a strong likely hood the running of the Caress Stakes for fillies and mares could move to the main track as it was a year ago; so with that possibility we’ll take a shot with “off-track” runners

Race 10), Caress Stakes F&M 5&1/2 Furlongs Turf Post Time 5:02 EDT

Miss Ella (9), winner of this contest a year ago in similar “rained-off” conditions, returns in solid form having placed twice and garnering a win in Graded competition at Keeneland; trainer Motion with jockey Rosario are 29 percent on the year together.

Ruby Notion (5), filly has two wins and show finishes at the distance, one of those victories coming in the Laurel slop a couple of years ago; Ward trainee will like this spot.

Ella (4), strong player at the route, and though most successes have come facing lesser, her two wins in off-going conditions equals the playing field.

Summer Reading (3), exits a dirt win at Monmouth and has placed twice in off-going conditions.

Selections: 9, 5, 4, 3
