Rain if forecast for Thursday and Friday of this week. For that reason, I am providing Pick 4 tickets for Oaks Day for both contingencies – on the turf and off the turf.

Early Pick 4 – Races 2-5 (Note that race 4 is carded as a turf race) Tickets are for $.50

Ticket with Race 4 on the turf: 1,2,3,4,6,7 w/ 2,5 w/ 7,8 w/ 1,4,6,8 = $72

Ticket with Race 4 off the turf: 1,2,3,4,6,7 w/ 2,5 w/ 4,11 w/ 1,4,6,8 = $72

Late Pick 4 – Races 8-11 (Note that race 10 is carded as a turf race) Tickets are for $.50

Ticket with Race 10 on the turf: 4,9,10 w/ 3,4,7 w/ 1,4,6,7 w/ 4,7,10,12 = $72

Ticket with Race 10 off the turf: 4,9,10 w/ 3,4,7 w/ 1,4,7,12 w/ 4,7,10, 12 = $72

Oaks-Derby Double – This bet must be made on Friday prior to race 11. I suggest that you play two tickets. On one, take one or more low odds horses that you like in the Oaks with several higher odds horses in the Derby. On the second ticket reverse the logic by taking your shot with Oaks horses with lower odds horses in the Derby that you like. A third ticket with shots in both races is fine as well if you like higher odds horses in both races.

I am going to key my Oaks win bets off (4) Paradise Woods 5-2, (10) Miss Sky Warrior 9-2, (7)Farrell 5-1 and (12) Daddys Lil Darling 20-1. In the Derby, I will key off (14) Classic Empire, (5) Always Dreaming, (15) McCraken, and (8) Hence.

My Oaks-Derby double bets will be:

Paradise Woods, Miss Sky Warrior, Farrell, and Daddys Lil Darling with McCraken and Hence
(4, 10, 7, 12, w/ 15, 8)

Miss Sky Warrior, Farrell, and Daddys Lil Darling with Classic Empire and Always Dreaming
(10, 7, 12, w/ 14, 5)
