Race 10 Grade II Davona Dale
Spice is Nice (6): Runaway winner in her first start for white hot trainer Todd Pletcher, she looks to prove that she’s Oaks caliber this weekend.
Bayerness (7): Makes her return to the races looking to remain undefeated after a brief layoff from November.
Tonalist Shape (9): She is now four for four but this will be her toughest test yet.
Race 11 Grade III Canadian Turf
Hembree (4): Gets back to his preferred distance of a mile where his career best races have all come, should get a solid pace to run after.
Hay Dakota (1): Another in here who will appreciate the pace to run at saving all the ground from the inside post.
Caribou Club (2): Looks to have needed the race off the break so I will give him another chance for sharp connections.
Race 12 Grade II Gulfstream Park Mile
Expert (6): Rattled off 4 straight wins before loosing at a mile and a 16th in the slop at Aqueduct. I like the cutback in distance for a trainer who is off to an excellent start this year.
Hog Creek Hustle (11): This deep closer will appreciate a hot pace and added group coming out of a live race vs Bobby’s Wicked One. Perfect post to save all the ground and make one explosive run.
Haikal (2): Just missed off a 9 month layoff but will move forward from that start and looks to be working lights out for one of the hottest trainers in South Florida.
Race 13 Grade II Mac Diarmida
Channel Maker (5): Mott doesn’t bring horses back if they aren’t ready, with the lack of pace in here I’m hoping Junior can get aggressive and send this one to the lead. He has a lot of back class and 8/1 is a steal if he can show it.
Sadlers Joy (4): Another with a ton of back class but he is very pace dependent hopefully Javier can get him in the mix early.
Zulu Alpha (6): Ultra consistent and just loves Gulfstream Park make no mistake he’s the one to beat.
Thread of Blue (3): I can excuse his last off the long layoff and give him another shot here, he will be close to a slow pace.
Race 14 Grade II Fountain of Youth
As Seen On TV (6): Looked to be a winner in his last before getting run down by Chance it. He should be able to sit a clean trip and get first jump on the closers.
Dennis Moment (5): Was all the rage at Breeders Cup so he clearly deserves another chance however his last work wasn’t great so I would tread lightly here off the long layoff when coming back.
Shotski (10): I like the cut back in distance and addition of Johnny V from a post he can stalk from rather than being forced to the lead.
