FAIR GROUNDS
Race 7), Allowance 43kn1x 6 Furlongs Post Time 4:05 CST
Spring Value (1), Asmussen/Bridgmohan; La-bred returns to open company; has won 2-of-3 at the distance and was a winner here back in March.
Floroplus (2), Calhoun/Geroux; makes first start of 2017 and first in the Calhoun barn. Colt was sidelined from works for ten months earlier this year, and though he’s posted back-to-back bullets, might want to watch one.
Zipp On By (3), Wilkes/Hernandez, B; returning to dirt in last, this City Zip gelding raced wide and was hung, yet still managed a solid third against a deep Keeneland allowance field; bullet work here Sunday, don’t overlook.
Wynn Time (4), Robertson/Murrill; Illinois-bred enters having won his two starts, the last a nice driving score over a sloppy Hawthorne main; that stretch drive there should play well here.
Berger (5), Casse/Lanerie; has been working lights out since arriving in from Woodbine; when the Casse barn starts a beaten fave next out they hit at 25 percent.
Hold Me Black (6), Stall/Hernandez, C; newly made gelding has demonstrated a keen ability to bounce back from a disappointing effort, as was his last, a non-threatening turf attempt at Saratoga. Son of Hold Me Back is 4-of-5 in the money here, and the Stall barn couldn’t be any hotter to start a meet, 44 percent.
