Parol Proves Best in Winning Wednesday’s Featured Lantern Hill Purse

LEXINGTON, KY (April 18, 2018) – Adele Dilschneider and Claiborne Farm’s homebred Parol swept to the lead at midstretch and posted a half-length victory over Black Canary to win Wednesday’s featured $76,000 Lantern Hill Purse for fillies and mares before a crowd of 10,391. Trained by Christophe Clement and ridden by Joel Rosario, Parol covered the 5½ furlongs in 1:04.58 over a turf course labeled good.

Parol is a 4-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Mizzen Mast out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Spoken. She improved her record to 9-2-4-1 and banked $45,600 with the victory to boost her career earnings to $112,400.

Parol paid $8, $4 and $2.60. Black Canary, ridden by Florent Geroux, returned $4.40 and $3.20 with favored Inspired Vow finishing another 1¾ lengths back in third under Jose Ortiz and paying $2.80 to show.

Racing continues Thursday with a nine-race program beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET.
