BELMONT PARK

Race 8) 1&1/8th Mile. Beldame S. Grade I. Purse $400,000 FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD
Post Time: ( 4:25)/ 3:25/ 2:25/ 1:25

ADVANCED FORECAST: Partly Sunny, High 67 Low 63

A field of eight fillies and mares head to the starting gate for a go at Grade 1 blacktype in the running of the Beldame Stakes.

Contested at the mile and eighth route, Coffeepot Stables multiple graded stakes winner Farrell (8) breaks from the far outside and should be able to use her early speed to clear and get to the front.

Stalking from just off the pace will be a Lookin At Lucky filly, Wow Cat (6), who in her two North American starts finished a neck back to Farrell in the G3 Shuvee and stayed on in last for a distant third to Abel Tasman in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign.

Owner Charlie Fipke sends out his homebred Verve’s Tale (5), who finished third in four of her last five starts, including a neck back to Farrell in the Shuvee.

A longshot possibility can be had with Divine Miss Grey (3), who owns three wins and a second from five Belmont starts.

Selections: 8, 6, 5, 3
