FAIR GROUNDS

Race 11) Silverbulletday Stakes 3yo Fillies 1 Mile 70/yds Post Time 5:20 CST

1) Fun Finder – McPeek/Hernandez, Jr. B (M/L 12-1); coasted home for maiden score last out at Gulfstream; she’s going to be pushed hard and early today.

2) Grandaria – Walsh/Lanerie (M/L 9-2); Curlin filly has won two straight, rallying from near the rear to win going away here last month; that late turn of foot bodes well in this spot.

3) Eres Tu – Asmussen/Santana (M/L 8-1); was no threat to aforementioned filly last out; it doesn’t get easier here.

4) Liora – Catalano/Hill (M/L 5-2); Candy Ride filly was all game in winning the Grade 2 Golden Rod back in November, her fourth straight improving start. She’s gotten away with soft opening fractions in her last two and don’t see that happening in this; nevertheless, expect another forward move.

5) Needs Supervision – O’Dwyer/Rocco ( M/L 3-1); drew away from Churchill girls last out for her second straight victory, an effort that produced the field’s highest speed figure. She’s been prepping well at Laurel for this and will be early speed.

6) Cowgirls Like Us – Calhoun/Mena (M/L 9-2); has won three straight stakes contests at Retama and Remington, and though that money is very real, just don’t know how real the competition was.

7) Mandy Blue – Cox/Geroux (M/L 9-2); trainer/jock connections of top filly Monomoy Girl reload with this daughter of Smart Strike. A winner of her first two, including a turf route last out here, she couldn’t be any hotter; this is a tough field, but if there’s a price to get on this girl, I’m in.

Selections: 7, 4, 5, 2
