MIAMI GARDENS, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 28th consecutive racing day of Gulfstream Park West’s Fall Turf Festival Thursday, producing a carryover jackpot of $603,724.81 for Friday’s program.
Multiple tickets with all six winners Thursday were each worth $6,548.56.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
The Rainbow 6 was solved at Gulfstream Park for a $2.2 million jackpot payoff Sept. 27 after going unsolved for 47 consecutive racing days.
The Rainbow 6 sequence Friday will span Races 3-8, kicking off with a maiden special weight event for fillies and mares at 7 ½ furlongs on turf, featuring the debut of Todd Pletcher-trained Aerodynamic, a 3-year-old daughter of Verrazano, and Rodolphe Brisset-trained Miss Hanna Jo, a 3-year-old daughter of More Than Ready who finished second in her most recent start at Belterra Park. Race 7, an optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up at 7 ½ furlongs on turf, and Race 8, a mile turf event for $20,000 maiden claimers, will also be included in Friday’s Stronach 5 sequence.
The Stronach 5, a $1 base wager with an industry low 12-percent takeout and a $100,000 guarantee pool, will kick off with Race 8 from Laurel Park (4:10 p.m.), followed by Gulfstream’s Race 7, Laurel’s Race 9, Golden Gate Fields’ Race 3 and Gulfstream’s Race 8.
