OLDSMAR, FL. – Tampa Bay Downs will conduct a full card of Thoroughbred racing on Thursday, Jan. 23 after its request to add the date was approved by the Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering.

The request was filed after the track’s Dec. 22 program was cancelled due to heavy storms.

“We appreciate the state’s action in permitting us to race on Jan. 23,” said Peter Berube, the track’s Vice President-General Manager. “We plan to race 90 days during the 2019-2020 meeting, and the Thursday date gives our horsemen another opportunity to compete.”

Tampa Bay Downs races each Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through May 3, with the exception of Easter Sunday, April 12, when the track is closed.
