BLACK GOLD 5 REACHES $155,835 AT FAIR GROUNDS HEADING INTO FRIDAY

New Orleans (January 9, 2020) – The Black Gold 5 jackpot, a .50 cent minimum wager where bettors are required to pick the winners of the final five races of the day at Fair Grounds Racecourse, has reached $155,835 heading into the nine race Friday card. If you hold the only winning ticket, you take home the entire pot.

The sequence kicks off in race 5 with an estimated post time of 2:26 pm (CST).

The Black Gold 5 will include race 7, a $45,000 Louisiana bred maiden special weight race going five and one half furlongs on the main track. Ron Faucheaux’s No Quarter is listed as the 9/5 morning line favorite. The son of Half Ours has two second place finishes from two career starts. Adam Beschizza will be aboard.

Race 8, a $43,000 allowance race, drew a field of eleven with two also-eligibles and will be run at about one mile on the turf course. Louisiana Champions Day Turf winner Ninety One Assault is listed as the 7/2 morning line favorite in the body for trainer Tom Morley. Shaun Bridgmohan will be aboard once again.
