HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $4 million for Friday’s 10-race program at Gulfstream Park.
First-race post time is 12:35 p.m.
The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 39th consecutive racing day to open the 2019-2020 Championship Meet Thursday, when multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $1,995.
The Rainbow 6 jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
A mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 26, when the entire pool will be shared by those ticket holders with the most winners. Should the Rainbow 6 continue to go unsolved through Saturday’s Pegasus World Cup Day card, the pool is expected to exceed $10 million.
Gulfstream is offering advance wagering Friday on its entire Saturday program, anchored by the fourth running of the $3 million Pegasus World Cup (G1) and second running of the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf (G1), both presented by Runhappy.
Friday also marks the return of the weekly national Stronach 5 wager, offering an industry low 12 percent takeout and $100,000 pool guarantee.
The Stronach 5 kicks off with Race 8 at Laurel Park and continues with Race 1 from Santa Anita Park, Race 8 from Gulfstream Park, Race 3 from Golden Gate Fields and Race 10 from Gulfstream.

Who’s Hot: Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. rode back-to-back winners with Elusive Melody ($3.80) in Race 4 and Trilby ($9.60) in Race 5, and added a third on Donegal Aces ($) in Race 10. Miguel Vasquez doubled aboard Prospective Diva ($16.60) in Race 6 and Cajun Casanova ($4) in Race 8. Trainer Jorge Navarro visited the winner’s circle twice with Salsa’s Return ($6.80) in Race 7 and Colour Guard ($27) in Race 9.
