Restless Rider Prominent on Royal Delta (G3) Nominations List

Friday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed at $400,000

Luis Saez Rides Four Winners on Thursday’s Card

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Grade 1 winner Restless Rider is prominent on the list of nominations for the $150,000 Royal Delta (G3), a 1 1/16-mile stakes for older fillies and mares at Gulfstream Park Feb. 15.

The Kenny McPeek-trained 4-year-old daughter of Distorted Humor captured the 2018 Alcibiades (G1) at Keeneland and finished second in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Churchill Downs. Owned by Fern Circle Stable and Three Chimneys Farm LLC, Restless Rider finished second in the 2019 Ashland (G1) at Keeneland before finishing off the board in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Unraced since the Oaks, Restless Rider has a series of seven breezes at Gulfstream in preparation for her return.

Summer Wind Equine LLC’s Golden Award, the winner of two graded stakes in her final three races of 2019, is also a notable Royal Delta nominee. The 5-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, who won the Shuvee (G3) at Saratoga and the Turnback the Alarm (G3) at Aqueduct, is trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, who conditioned three-time champion Royal Delta.

Mott-trained Blamed, the winner of the 2018 Comely (G3) at Aqueduct, is also nominated to the Royal Delta.

Arindel’s Cookie Dough, a multiple graded stakes-placed 4-year-old daughter of Brethren, is expected to run in the Royal Delta off a runner-up finish in the Rampart (G3) to next-out winner Pink Sands.

WinStar Stablemates Racing LLC’s Coach Rocks, the 2018 Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) winner; Miami Shores Racing LLC’s Irisa, a Group 2 winner in Argentina who has yet to debut in the U.S.; Teresa Viola Racing Stables and St. Elias Stable’s Nona Madeline, who finished third in the recent Inside Information (G2) at Gulfstream; and CJ Thoroughbreds, Left Turn Racing LLC and Casner Racing LLC’s Sally’s Curlin, who captured the Chilukki (G3) at Churchill two starts back; have also been nominated to the Royal Delta.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed at $400,000

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $400,000 Friday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 6th consecutive racing day Thursday, when multiple winning tickets were each worth $2,571.34.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 will span Races 5-10

Who’s Hot: Luis Saez rode for winners on Thursday’s program.

Saez and Irad Ortiz Jr. alternated winning rides for the first six races Thursday. Saez scored aboard Swirling Candy ($5) in Race 1, Camp Randall ($8.80) in Race 3 and Mr. Atila ($3.60) in Race 5. Ortiz won with Iconic ($3.60) in Race 2, First Rate ($11) in Race 4 and Roman City ($5.40) in Race 6. Saez notched Win No. 4 with Soldado ($4.00) in Race 9.
