A starting spot in the Kentucky Oaks will be on the line when Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Filly champion British Idiom faces six rivals including Winchell Thoroughbreds 4-time winner Finite in the 40th running of the Grade 2 Rachel Alexandra.

FAIR GROUNDS

Race 11) 1&1/16th Mile. Rachel Alexandra S. PRESENTED BY FASIG-TIPTON. Grade II. Purse $300,000 FOR FILLIES THREE
YEARS OLD.

Post Time: 6:05/( 5:05)/ 4:05/ 3:05

7) Finite (Asmussen/Santana); giving this daughter of Munnings the slight edge here as she’s made the most recent start, a game win here in the Silverbulletday, her victory in a row. She would prefer a quick pace but will take what they give her.

6) British Idiom (Cox/Castellano);
reigning BC Juve Filly champ has done nothing wrong in winning her three career starts; though “game-day”rested since her stirring BC win, she has been a regular in the morning works since arriving here late December; really the one to beat.

In any order:

2) Ursula (Stidham/Murrill); lost a heartbreaker to Finite in the Silverbulletday, however her work last week suggest she’s over that defeat and will be ready to contend should top two falter in any way.

3) Swiss Skydiver (McPeek/Hernandez, B.); closed from well back over the deep Tampa main last out only to come up less than a length out; she’ll love this course.

5) Tempers Rising (Stewart/Leparoux); part of the neck photo finish in the Silverbulletday, her sixth straight deep closing effort, sooner or later she’s going to get there

Field from the rail out:

1) His Glory (Amoss/Graham)
2) Ursula (Stidham/Murrill)
3) Swiss Skydiver (McPeek/Hernandez, B.)
4) Impeccable Style (McPeek/Lanerie)
5) Tempers Rising (Stewart/Leparoux)
6) British Idiom (Cox/Castellano)
7) Finite (Asmussen/Santana)

Selections: 7, 6, w/2, 3, 5
