The third and final leg of racings Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes will once again highlight fashion that showcases elegance, prestige and class. Though New York City is one of the world’s fashion hubs don’t let that intimidate your clothing selection. Light and airy are normally the first choice but keep watch on the weather forecast as New York’s skies can turn cool and damp in a second. A light wrap or shawl in Belmont’s traditional colors of black and white will add to the impression you want to make.

Hats as always will rule the day with traditional “Derby” to the current fascinator look. Also heels make a return as Belmont’s spacious grounds are well paved with minimal to no “sinking”; a comfortable pair of flats will make your after-race trip to the trains or your limo a pleasant walk.

Finally, refresh yourself with Belmont Park’s signature drink the Belmont Jewel, a delightful concoction of bourbon, lemonade and pomegranate, you won’t be disappointed.

As has been the custom, the ladies of the Gretna Jockey Club will offer up their race selections. Good Luck!!!
