Mandatory Payout of Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Set for Sunday

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Estimated at $150,000

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is set for Sunday at Gulfstream Park, where the popular multi-race wager went unsolved Friday for the fourth racing day following a June 29 mandatory

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is expected to grow to an estimated $150,000.

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11, headlined by the $75,000 Azalea, a seven-furlong stakes for 3-year-old fillies carded as Race 10. Carlos David-trained Anna’s Promise, who finished second in this year’s Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) before finishing fifth in the Kentucky Oaks (G1), is favored on the morning-line at 9-5. The daughter of Promised Fulfilled cuts back to one turn after finishing a tiring third in the 1 1/16-mile Monomoy Girl at Churchill Downs last time out.

Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Luvumorgan, rated second at 2-1 on the morning line, is coming off a 2 ¾-length victory in the 6 ½-furlong Game Face. Stablemate Andrea, rated third on the morning line at 3-1, set the pace before finishing second in the Game Face.

A 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight race for fillies and mares on Tapeta kicks off the Rainbow 6 sequence. Joseph will unveil French-bred Sod Siren, the 2-1 morning-line favorite who is out of a daughter of 2003 UAE Oaks winner Danuta. Jose D’Angelo-trained Welcome to America, an Irish-bred filly, is expected to improve on a troubled fifth-place finish in her debut.

Trainer Victor Barboza Jr., who has achieved a 21-percent win rate during the Royal Palm Meet, will be represented by two promising entrants in Race 8, a 6 ½-furlong maiden special weight event for 3-year-olds and up. Asphalt King, a son of Tiz the Law, will return from a long layoff following a solid second-place finish in his debut last fall. Skellig Michael raced evenly after breaking from the rail in his debut last month. Joseph-trained Founders, a son of Constitution, is set to make his debut for Robert LaPenta and Madaket Stables.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory-payout days, the entire Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the wager’s six-race sequence.
