Two Oaklawn-raced Thoroughbreds, including the beaten favorite in one of its 2026 Kentucky Derby qualifying races, are entered in the $300,000 Delaware Derby for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles Saturday at Delaware Park.

Litmus Test is the 3-2 program favorite for the Delaware Derby, which drew a field of seven. Litmus Test made two starts this season at Oaklawn for Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, finishing third as the favorite in the $1 million G2-Rebel Stakes March 1 and seventh in the $1.5 million G1-Arkansas Derby March 28. The Rebel and Arkansas Derby are Oaklawn’s third and fourth Kentucky Derby qualifying races, respectively.

Litmus Test exits a 17th-place finish in the Kentucky Derby, the first leg of the Triple Crown, May 2 at Churchill Downs. Baffert has tapped Kentucky Derby winning jockey Jose Ortiz to ride Litmus Test from post 4. Litmus Test was a Grade 2 winner last year.

Out of the Woods, who broke his maiden April 3 at Oaklawn for trainer Phil D’Amato, is scheduled to make his stakes debut in the Delaware Derby. Out of the Woods (5-1) exits a first-level allowance victory at 1 1/16 miles May 2 at Churchill Downs. Hall of Famer John Velazquez retains the mount on Out of the Woods, who is scheduled to break from post 3

.

Probable post time for the Delaware Derby, the 10th of 12 races, is 4:26 p.m. CDT. Admiral Dennis captured last year’s inaugural Delaware Derby for trainer Brad Cox after finishing sixth in the Rebel.
