RACE 8) 6 Furlongs. OC 40000n2x Post Time: 5:53/( 4:53)/ 3:53/ 2:53 Exacta / $0.50 Trifecta / $0.10 Superfecta / Daily Double
King Bandit (1), Orlando/Hernandez, C; competitive 7-year-old exits a win at Evangeline facing allowance company; has hit the board in 7-of-10 Fair Grounds tries.
Modern Medicine (2), Scherer/Mena; forget last, a seven furlong turf try at Kentucky Downs; 4-year-old has posted some impressive speed figures over the Arlington synthetic main and appears ready to return to the real dirt; surface switch angle for Scherer, 13 percent.
Jensen (3), Jones/Saez; another who you should forget his last, a rank effort in the Grade 3 Spiral; the return to Fair Grounds where he’s won and placed two times; Jones starters are quite formidable here.
Speightsong (4), Amoss/Albarado; back in for the claim after one start in the always tough Amoss barn, an angle that’s hard to endorse. Speightstown 5-year-old owns a win and second in four FG starts; he is however back at his level.
Luna de Loco (5), Asmussen/Geroux; one time Triple Crown hopeful offered little in his last, a near the rear try facing Prairie Meadows overnighters; the class-drop and jock change does make him a threat.
Superstar Leo (6), Robertson/Graham; 5-year-old is always close at the line, winning twice and placing in another two starts from seven 2016 attempts. Three Hour Nap gelding is a four-time winner at this distance and today gets the services of James Graham, a tough out here.
