Rainbow 6 wagering started Thursday with a jackpot carryover of $300,099. A total of $181,040 was wagered into the pool for the sequence that spanned Races 5-10.
A Rainbow 6 mandatory payout has been scheduled for the New Year’s Eve card on Saturday, Dec. 31, when there will also the pools for the Late Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 will be paid out.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on days when a mandatory payout is scheduled, the entire pool is shared by those holding tickets with the most winners.
Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11 and will include four turf stakes: the $75,000 Tropical Park Derby (Race 7), the $75,000 Via Borghese (Race 9), the $100,000 H. Allen Jerkens (Race 10) and the $75,000 Tropical Park Oaks (Race 11).
