TSV Staff Selections —-

A steady field field of twelve are set to go in the Grade 2 San Gabriel Stakes, contested at a mile-and-an-eighth over the Santa Anita turf; there is a distinct chance of rain so check conditions.

Race 9), 1„ Mile. (Turf) San Gabriel S. Grade II. Purse $200,000 FOR FOUR-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD
$1 Exacta / $1 Trifecta / $1 Superfecta (.10 Min.) / $1 Super High 5
Post Time: 7:30/ 6:30/ 5:30/( 4:30)

Twentytwentyvision (9), Mandella/Smith; in the money in his last ten starts, and hasn’t missed a spot on the Santa Anita tote-board in seven attempts. Enters well-rested following a pair of near miss thirds here last October. Well rested’s for Mandella is a strong 21 percent play; Hall of Fame rider Smith gets the call here.

Perfectly Majestic (10), Hess/Espinoza; late charge last out was enough for this 5-year-old Majesticperfection gelding, as he bested a pricey Del Mar Optional Claiming field; in the money here with 6-of-8 starts.

Ring Weekend (11), Motion/Van Dyke; Tapit 6-year-old was all game in taking the G2 Seabiscuit by a head, and though he’s won 2-of-3 at today’s route, don’t feel this is his best track; nevertheless, don’t ever discount a multiple Graded Stakes winner.

Some in Tieme (12), Lobo/Pereira; Brazilian-bred 5-year-old makes his North American debut with first lasix; he’s been posting some quick a.m.’s since arriving here in October.

Selections: 9, 10, 11, 12
