– LARRY JONES TRAINEE WINS HER STAKES DEBUT WITH ROBERTO MORALES UP –

VINTON, LA. – Delta Downs hosted the $50,000 Take Charge Brandi Stakes on Friday night and it was the Larry Jones trainee Perfect Prediction who came through with the win under jockey Roberto Morales.

Perfect Prediction was making her stakes and Delta Downs debut in the race that saw her break sharply and open up an early lead in the seven-furlong test for 3-year-old fillies. As the race progressed the bay runner gained more and more confidence before storming home with a 3-1/4 length win over race favorite Golden Mischief. Shes Tricky rounded out the trifecta and finished another four lengths behind the runner-up.

Perfect Prediction, who is owned by Brereton C. Jones, stopped the timer in 1:25.60 over a track listed as fast.

The victory by Perfect Prediction was the second of her five-race career. She broke her maiden at PARX on September 20. Friday night’s $30,000 first-place prize raised her overall bankroll up to $75,300.

Bred in Kentucky by her owner, Perfect Prediction is a 3-year-old bay filly by Majesticperfection, out of the Vicar mare Predictress.

Sent to the gate at odds of 4.4-1, Perfect Prediction paid $10.80 to win, $3.20 to place and $2.40 to show. Golden Mischief was worth $2.20 to place and $2.10 to show. Shes Tricky paid $3 to show.

Delta Downs will close out its next-to-last race week of the season on Saturday night with another 10-race program that begins at 5:40 pm CT.

Delta Downs Racetrack Casino and Hotel, a property of Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE:BYD), features exciting casino action, live horse racing and fun dining experiences. Delta Downs is located in Vinton, Louisiana, on Delta Downs Drive. From Lake Charles, take Exit 7 and from Texas, take Exit 4.
