Tampa Bay Downs Pick 5
Race 7) 1 Mile. (Turf) Columbia S. Purse $75,000 FOR THREE YEAR OLDS
Post Time: ( 3:12)/ 2:12/ 1:12/12:12
Holiday Stone (10): Comes in second off the layoff for George Weaver, which is a 25 percent play and exits a stronger stakes down at Gulfstream; a step forward off the layoff makes him the one to beat.
South Sea (8): Makes his return off the 6-month layoff and adds Lasix for the return. He catches a softer field for this level and is great value at 12-1 assuming he has matured with his time off.
Sonic Boom (9): Exits the same race as Holiday Stone and goes second off the layoff. He likes to be on the wire though he only has one win from 5 starts.
Race 8) 1ˆ Mile. Challenger S. Purse $100,000 FOR FOUR YEAR OLDS
AND UPWARD
Post Time: ( 3:55)/ 2:55/ 1:55/12:55
Idolo Porteno (6): With all the speed signed on here I expect this one to sit a perfect trip off the leaders and run by them all at the top of the stretch.
Adirondack King (5): Comes in second off the layoff to defend his title in the Challenger and is one to respect for a sharp trainer and rider combo.
Stanford (2): Will be a heavy chalk here and I am not convinced he has to win. Last out he had a dream trip at 3/5 odds and could not get it done, I consider my top two selections better than the field he faced that day.
Race 9) 1ˆ Mile. (Turf) Florida Oaks Grade III. Purse $200,000 (includes
$50,000 Other Sources) FOR FILLIES THREE YEARS OLD
Post Time: ( 4:25)/ 3:25/ 2:25/ 1:25
La Cornel (5): Was running away from them all year on the turf before a bad post draw in the Breeders Cup. She returns here and is the one have to beat, with a slight improvement she runs away from them here; could potentially be a SINGLE for cheaper players.
Tamit (7): The other Mark Casse trained horse in the field at a big of a longer price. She has steadily improved and encountered a tough trip in her last race.
Fifty Five (6): Comes out of the same race as Tamit and also encountered a bad trip; now gets the services of top NY jockey Irad Ortiz who is in to ride for the day.
Race 10) 1„ Mile. (Turf) Hillsborough S. Grade II. Purse $200,000 FOR
FILLIES AND MARES FOUR YEARS OLD AND UPWARD
Post Time: ( 4:55)/ 3:55/ 2:55/ 1:55
Dickinson (3): Has showed versatility in her last two races rallying from off the pace when winning Grade III Suwanee River. She should sit a beautiful trip off Isabella Sings and draw away at the top of the stretch.
Swiss Range (1): Was running vs. some of the best turf horses in the world before coming to the states and running a steady effort in the Grade I E.P. Taylor this fall.
Elysea’s World (5): Comes out of the same race as Dickinson and had a very wide trip throughout, with another run like that she is a primary contender in this race.
Race 11) 1ˆ Mile. Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby Grade II. Purse $350,000
FOR THREE YEAR OLDS
Post Time: ( 5:27)/ 4:27/ 3:27/ 2:27
Beasley (6): Just missed in his last effort vs. what most consider the best 3 year old in South Florida who is pointing for the Florida Derby. He has shown versatility and is steadily improving, so I look for a nice trip off the speed and when they turn for home he’ll be running by everyone.
State of Honor (8): He has been running steadily but does not like to find the winners circle. His numbers have steadily improved since getting on dirt and he must be considered here.
Wild Shot (9): George Arnold is terrible first off the layoff and this one ran a steady race; he should move forward here with a lot of speed signed on. He has been chasing a lot of good horses since breaking his maiden.

Santa Anita Race 5 Grade II San Felipe Post Time 5:30 EST
Mastery (4): This is Baffert’s best 3 year old, he will stamp himself as the Kentucky Derby favorite today.
Term of Art (1): He hasn’t had a lot of pace to run at and that is when he excels, he will get that here; presents great value underneath for the exacta when he is passing tiring horses.
Iliad (6): He has yet to go two turns and does not get the softest of fields to try for the first time. The runner who ran 3rd in his last effort came back to beat a highly regarded Baffert on Thursday.
