Guaranteed Multi-Race Wager Pools Scheduled for Saturday
Rainbow 6-$600,000; Late Pick 4-$250,000; Late Pick 5-$200,000

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Saturday’s 13-race program at Gulfstream Park will feature guaranteed pools for the 20-cent Rainbow 6, the 50-cent Late Pick 4 and the 50-cent Late Pick 5.

The Rainbow 6 (Races 8-13) will offer a $600,000 jackpot pool guarantee. The Late Pick 4 (Races 10-13) pool will be guaranteed at $250,000, while the Late Pick 5 (Races 9-13) will offer a $200,000 pool guarantee.

The Rainbow 6 went unsolved Friday for the 11th consecutive program since the popular multi-race wager produced a $324,179.78 jackpot payoff Feb. 23.

Multiple tickets with all six winners Friday were each worth $4,771.96.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The sequences for the Rainbow 6, Late Pick 4 and Late Pick 5 will feature the $75,000 Silks Run, a five-furlong turf sprint carded as Race 12. Brian Lynch-trained Power Alert, who is undefeated in five career starts over the Gulfstream turf, is slated to seek his third straight Silks Run victory while facing 10 rivals.

The co-featured $75,000 Captiva Island, a five-furlong turf dash for fillies and mares will be renewed in the fourth race

Who’s Hot: Trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velazquez teamed for two wins, scoring with My Miss Tapit ($4) in the second race and Nonna Bella ($2.80) in the fourth. Velazquez pulled off a triple with a win aboard Jay Gatsby ($4.40) in the ninth.

Jockeys Jose Lezcano and Jorge Ruiz both notched back-to-back victories. Lezcano won aboard Speight Swiftly ($5.20) in the fifth and Starship Wildcat ($12.60) in the sixth. Ruiz scored aboard Track Shill ($24) in the seventh and Leverkusen ($9.40) in the eighth.
