Pick-4 and Pick-5 Selections for Derby Day

Derby Day at Churchill Downs offers up seven different Pick-4 or Pick-5 opportunities. That many races will challenge any handicapper’s wallet, so I advise that you play the ones that look most appealing to you. Of course, partnering up with your buddies can stretch your ability to play most or all tickets.

In the event that Race-5 is taken off the turf, I have provided tickets containing that race which addresses the off-turf situation. Unless the rainfall amounts make turf racing extremely dangerous, the graded stakes races probably will stay on the turf.

All amounts are calculated on $.50 plays.

Early Pick-4: Races 2-5
With Race 5 on turf: 2,4,6,7 w/ 3,5,8 w/ 1,5,6 w/ 1,5,11 = $54
With Race 5 off the turf: 2,4,7 w/ 3,5,8 w/ 1,5,6 w/ 2,5,9,14 = $54

Early Pick-5: Races 3-7
