The Preakness Day race card offers 14 races to play. My picks follow, including commentary on the stakes races.

1) 7-6-5-1

2) 2-10-6-4

3) 4-1-6-8

4) 5-2-3-4

5) The Very One

Animal Appeal – 6 Englehart gets them ready off the bench

Pretty Perfection – 5 Last race a throw-out?

Everything Lovely – 2 Comes in off freshening

Nite Delite – 7 Competes, but beaten by several of these

6-5-2-7

6) 2-9-6-1

7) The Chick Lang

Three Rules – 1 He finally gets to do what he does best. Classy Colt.

Recruiting Ready – 7 Last two Sprint races we’re impressive.

Always Suspect – 2 Faces tougher here. Has been good against lesser.

Proforma – 5 working lights out for return from six months on bench.

1-7-2-5
