Sunday’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Grows to $842,531
Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout Set for Next Saturday
Cornelio Velasquez Makes Triumphant Return to Gulfstream

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Sunday’s 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot grew to $842,531,88 when the popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 31th consecutive racing card at Gulfstream Park Saturday.

Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $2,537.14 Saturday.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket sold, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9.

There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $2,684.08 heading into Sunday’s card.

First-race post time is set for 1:15 p.m

Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout Set for Next Saturday

A mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 carryover pool at Gulfstream Park is scheduled for next Saturday.
On mandatory payout days, a single unique ticket with all six winners is not required to take down or share in the carryover jackpot. The entire Rainbow 6 pool is paid out to the holders of tickets with the most winners.

Mandatory payouts are also scheduled for the Late Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 next Saturday.

Cornelio Velasquez Makes Triumphant Return to Gulfstream

Cornelio Velasquez made a triumphant return to Gulfstream Park Saturday while guiding Todd Pletcher-trained Classy Dancer ($4) to victory in the fourth race, a $50,000 five-furlong turf race for 2-year-old maiden fillies.

“I always like riding at Gulfstream. My family is here. I enjoy Florida,” said Velasquez, who will be based at Gulfstream through the summer months. “I’d like to than Todd Pletcher for the opportunity to ride this horse.”

The 49-year-old veteran, who has ridden 3,855 winners in North America, rode at Gulfstream Park last summer before venturing to Saudi Arabia. He returned to New York this year.

The 2007 Championship Meet champion at Gulfstream will be represented by agent Matt Muzikar, who also books mounts for Spring Meet leader Tyler Gaffalione.

Gulfstream Park is a Stronach Group company, North America’s leading Thoroughbred racetrack owner/operator. The Stronach Group racetracks include Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park & Casino, Golden Gate Fields, Portland Meadows, Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course, home of the world-famous Preakness.
