Arrogate, the “Horse of the World” goes to post in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap an overwhelming favorite, and the $17 million colt out of Unbridled’s Song should overwhelm this field. Trying to make this contest a “viable” wagering spot means finding a place and show to complete a straight trifecta; let’s take a look at some of the potentials.

Del Mar

Race 9) Grade 2 San Diego Handicap 1&1/16th Miles Post Time 9:10 EDT

Accelerate (1), is 2-for-2 here and though winless at the route, he’s hit the board in three tries.

El Huerfano (2), exits a nice win over Santa Anita OC’s as well as a bullet work.

Donworth (4), is one across the board at the distance but has been a non-factor in his last three starts.

Cat Burglar (5), the “other” Baffert horse and half brother to Arrogate; is more than capable of besting the rest for second.

Dalmore (6), has failed to follow up a promising 2016, as he’s managed to post only a third from four 2017 attempts.

Trifecta Play: Arrogate (3) over Cat Burglar (5) over Accelerate (1).

3 w/5 w/1
