ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (August 3, 2017) – Arlington International Racecourse and the Chicago Cubs are proud to announce that the Cubs 2016 World Series trophy will be on display at Arlington on Arlington Million Day, Aug. 12.

Todd Ricketts, part of the Cubs’ ownership group and a member of the Chicago Cubs Board of Directors, is scheduled to present the Million trophy to the owner, trainer and jockey of the winning horse.

“We are thrilled to be able to display this terrific symbol of the Cubs storybook season in 2016,” said Arlington General Manager Tony Petrillo. “It will give our fans the chance to see and take pictures of this historic trophy as another part of the overall entertainment package that makes Arlington Million Day a very special event.”

“Winning the championship was a thrilling experience for all Cubs fans and the fulfillment of our family’s promise to Chicago,” said Todd Ricketts. “We’ve tried to share the trophy with as many fans as possible, and that is why we are honored to bring it to the Arlington Million, a truly great Chicago event.”

This season marks the 35th running of the famed Grade I Arlington Million, one of the world’s most prestigious Thoroughbred horse races. It is one of six major races on the biggest day of racing in Illinois and one of the biggest in North America.

Other entertainment will be offered throughout the day, including live music, performances in the winner’s circle between races and the national anthem performed by famed singer Jim Cornelison.

Tickets for the event, including reserved seating, are available at www.arlingtonpark.com.

Arlington International Racecourse – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 71-day meet in 2017 from Friday, May 5 through September 23.
