DMTC News – From the Wire —-

Eight older California-bred fillies and mares, including the 2016 winner, Majestic Heat, will compete Friday in the featured $150,000 Solana Beach Stakes at a mile and one-sixteenth over Del Mar’s infield Jimmy Durante grass course.

Majestic Heat, a five-year-old mare by Unusual Heat trained by Richard Mandella, nosed out Tiz a Kiss in the Solana Beach last summer. Flavien Prat again has the call on Majestic Heat who will be opposed by Moonless Sky, Kent Desormeaux; Qiaona, Evin Roman; Starlite Style, Joe Talamo; Lynne’s Legacy, Victor Espinoza; How Unusual, Norberto Arroyo, Jr.; Dressed to a T, Mario Gutierrez, and recent winner Shehastheritestuff, Rafael Bejarano.

Majestic Heat will be making her 2017 debut, having been out of action since Nov. 6 when she finished fourth in the Goldikova Stakes at Santa Anita.

Post time for the first race Friday will be 4 p.m.
