Exclusive wager to be offered on Saturdays and Sundays until October 7

ELMONT, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) announced today the continuation of the popular NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 wager during Belmont Park’s Fall Championship Meet. Starting on Saturday, September 9, the bet will be exclusively available to NYRA Bets members across the country and to bettors in New York wagering on track or through a simulcast facility.

The popular multi-race wager will cover the last five races of live racing on Saturdays and Sundays from Belmont Park through Super Saturday on October 7 and features a low 15 percent takeout rate and $0.50 minimum bet. The NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 includes a 100% carryover provision of the net pool into the next available NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 if there are no winning tickets. There will be a mandatory payout of the pool on Saturday, October 7.

“Over the course of the Saratoga meet, the NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 provided horseplayers with tremendous value and exciting wagering opportunities often highlighted by significant overlays,” said Tony Allevato, President of NYRA Bets and Executive Producer for NYRA TV. “The Pick 5 is quickly becoming the most popular bet among our members, and that’s why we’re pleased to be able to offer it this fall at Belmont Park.”

Launched at Belmont Park on July 4, the NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 was then offered every day of the 2017 summer meet at Saratoga Race Course. In the 48 race days since its launch, the average pool size of the NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 is $145,164 with an average payout of $10,792 for the $.50 bet. The largest pool was $349,643 on Saturday, July 22, which included a $104,258 carryover from Opening Day at Saratoga Race Course.

NYRA Bets is the best way to play Belmont Park’s 38-day Fall Championship Meet, featuring 42 stakes worth more than $10.1 million including six Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” qualifiers to be held over the course of back-to-back weekends at the end of September and early October. The meet runs from Friday, September 8 through Sunday, October 29.

Belmont Park Live, presented by Claiborne Farm and stallion Runhappy, returns for the fall meet with coverage of race days from September 8 through October 1 before returning for a special edition on Empire Showcase Day, October 21.

Throughout the meet, which runs from September 8 through October 29, Belmont Park Live airs on MSG+, FOX Sports Prime Ticket, FOX Sports San Diego, and FOX Sports Ohio. The Jockey Club Gold Cup, a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” race on Saturday, October 7 will be broadcast on NBC.
