Canterbury Park

Race 10) Shakopee Juvenile Stakes 2yo 6 Furlongs Post Time 5:05 CDT

It’s not often that Tracksideview ventures to Canterbury Park, but that’s where our handicappers find themselves for their closing day feature, the Shakopee Juvenile Stakes.

Tracksideview friend, Horseplayers Racing Club LLC sends out a missile for this six furlong contest with their son of Giant Oak, Giant Missile (6). The speedy chestnut blew away Evangeline maidens in his debut, taking the field gate-to-wire.

He’ll face a stern test from Minnesota-bred Mister Banjoman (5), who battled gamely deep into the stretch coming up less than a length short last out in the Northern Lights Futurity.

Iowa-bred Topper T (7), winner of two straight, and debut victor Kenai Bob (8), will add to what’s shaping up as a stirring stretch-duel.

Selections: 6, 5, 7, 8
