TSV Staff Selections —-

WOODBINE

Race 11) Grade 1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes 1&1/2 Miles Post Time 6:36 EDT

5) Hawkbill (Appleby/Spencer) – after getting caught at the line here in 2017’s contest, 5-year-old out of Kitten’s Joy went on to win a pair of G1’s at Dubai; however he’s struggled a bit in his last three in England so connections take the shades off, a solid angle in this spot.

3) Utmost (Motion/Garcia) – Giant’s Causeway colt enters on solid footing following his third at Delaware and his last out win here in the G2 Sky Classic; he’ll need to stay forwardly placed to threaten the top pick.

10) Patterson Cross (Mott/Rosario) – in each of his last four starts, Arch 5-year-old has finished less than a length back at the line; Hall of Fame conditioner Mott knows how to find his spots and this could be one of those spots.

6) Tiz a Slam (Attfield/Bahen) – gave way grudgingly in the Sky Classic; his prior two starts here were both winning efforts in the G3 Dominion and Grade 2 Nijinsky; horse for the course.

Selections : 5, 3, 10, 6
