No New Names in NTRA Top 10 Poll as Accelerate Remains No. 1

NO NEW NAMES IN NTRA TOP 10 POLL AS ACCELERATE REMAINS NO. 1 FOR TENTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Monday, October 22, 2018) – Hronis Racing’s Accelerate retained his hold atop the NTRA Top 10 Thoroughbred Poll for the tenth consecutive week as the top U.S.-based horses in training make final preparations for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 2-3 at Churchill Downs.

Accelerate, the 3-1 future bet favorite to win the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, received 11 first place votes and 340 points. Retired Triple Crown winner Justify was second in this week’s Top 10 poll with 25 first place votes and 310 points. Twinspires.com Breeders’ Cup Sprint contender Imperial Hint (sixth place, 151 points) received the lone other first place vote in this week’s voting.

The NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll is the sport’s most comprehensive survey of experts. Every week eligible journalists and broadcasters cast votes for their top 10 horses, with points awarded on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis. All horses that have raced in the U.S., are in training in the U.S., or are known to be pointing to a major event in the U.S. are eligible for the NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll, which continues until November 5, after the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
