Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Rises to $65,441

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Two-time defending Championship Meet titlist Luis Saez rode four winners Wednesday at Gulfstream Park.

The 26-year-old jockey scored aboard False Info ($4.60) in Race 1, Untrue ($7.60) in Race 3, Winning Game ($34) in Race 7, and Bargainaire ($9) in Race 9.

“It’s amazing coming back to Florida, a place everyone wants to be now. The weather, the races, are great,” said Saez, who began his career in South Florida in 2009 after arriving in the U.S. from Panama “I’m excited for the meet. The horses have been running good. I’m just going to keep working hard.”

Saez rode a record 137 winners during the 2017-2018 Championship Meet, during which he enjoyed two record-equaling seven-win days. He finished first with 102 winners the previous meet.
Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Rises to $65,441

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the third straight program at Gulfstream Park Wednesday, producing a carryover jackpot of $65,441.40 for Thursday’s program.

Multiple tickets will all six winners were each worth $10,000.74.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez makes his first appearance at the Championship Meet Thursday with two mounts in the Rainbow 6 sequence that will span Races 5-10. Velazquez is named to ride Michael Matz-trained For Kicks in Race 5, a $50,000 maiden claiming race at a mile on turf, and Todd Pletcher-trained first-time starter Hydra, a 2-year-old daughter of Kantharos, in Race 7, a six-furlong maiden special weight for Florida-breds.
