Rainbow 6 Jackpot Grows to $265,298 for Friday
Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. Enjoys Three-Win Day
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the ninth consecutive program Thursday at Gulfstream Park, growing the carryover jackpot to $265,298.40 for Friday’s 10-race program.
First race post time is 12:35 p.m.
A total of $139,741 was bet into the Rainbow 6 Thursday, which began with a carryover of $231,762. Two horses were live to take down the jackpot heading into the 10th race finale, won by Mertz ($3.80) via the disqualification of Hendaya for interference in deep stretch.
Multiple tickets with all six winners Thursday were worth $3,161,62.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 5-10, three of them scheduled over the newly refurbished turf course.
Who’s Hot: Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. visited the winner’s circle three times Thursday, with Star Player ($10.80) in the first race, Over Sensual ($4.60) in the third and Speed Star ($21.60) in the ninth. Star Player and Over Sensual were both ridden by Tyler Gaffalione, moving him to within seven of 1,000 career wins.
Rainbow 6 Carryover: $265,298.40
