Eclipse Finalists Announced Saturday at Gulfstreampark.com
Code of Honor 7-5 Morning-Line Favorite
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 was solved for a $166,317 payoff at Gulfstream Park Friday, when there was only one ticket with all six winners sold.
The popular multi-race wager had not been solved for three racing days. After going unsolved for the first 12 programs of the 2018-2019 Championship Meet, there have been four jackpots paid out. The popular multi-race wager was solved Dec. 19 for a $580,349.19 jackpot, Dec. 27 for $288,350.74 and again Dec. 30 for $177,317.98.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Wednesday’s winning combination was 6-2-4-1-9-7. The winning ticket was purchased on Twin Spires for $4,224.
The Rainbow 6 will start anew on Saturday. The six-race sequence, which will span Races 6-11, will offer three stakes races – the $75,000 Glitter Woman in Race 7, $100,000 Kitten’s Joy in Race 9 and the $100,000 Mucho Macho Man in Race 10.
William S. Farish’s Code of Honor, the Champagne Stakes (G1) runner-up last time out, is the 7-5 morning-line favorite in a field of six for the one-turn mile stakes that will kick off Gulfstream’s 2019 program for 3-year-olds.
There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $3,543.29 heading into Saturday’s card that gets underway at Noon.
