Special Presidents Day Program Monday Featuring Eleven Starter-Allowance Races
Rainbow 6 Carryover $73,893.76
Jaramillo Rides Four Winners, Irad Ortiz Three
Navarro Saddles Three Winners

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Eleven of the first 12 races on Gulfstream Park’s special Presidents Day card Monday will be starter-allowance contests with purses of $50,000 and $60,000.

First race post is noon.

Five of the 11 starter-allowances will be run on the turf including the seventh race, the $60,000 Mrs. Presidents, which drew a dozen 3-year-old fillies. The final race on the afternoon is a maiden special weight event for 3-year-old state breds going a mile on the turf.

There will be no live racing Tuesday but racing returns to Gulfstream Wednesday with an 11-race program. First race post is 12:35 p.m.

Monday’s Rainbow 6 Carryover

The Rainbow 6 carryover going into Monday’s program will be $73,893.76.

Multiple tickets with six winners Sunday returned $1,385.80. There was $159,734 wagered into the pool.
The sequence will begin with Monday’s seventh race.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Jaramillo Rides Four Winners

Jockey Emisael Jaramillo, currently the fifth-leading rider at Gulfstream’s Championship Meet, rode four winners on Sunday’s afternoon program.

Jaramillo won the third race with Andronikos ($4.60), the fourth with Elissas Secret ($3.60), the 10th with Mr. Macfadden ($3.80) and the 11th with Mr French ($5.20).

Irad Ortiz Jr. won three races. Ortiz won aboard Trenchtown Cat ($3.20) in the first, Sister Kitten ($5.40) in the ninth and Paint the Corners ($3.80) in the 12th.

Trainer Jorge Navarro saddled three winners. Navarro won with Elissas Secret, Mr. Macfadden and Paint the Corners.
