Thursday’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Climbs to $1,425,670
International Star Headlines Graded Stakes-Quality Feature
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 19th consecutive racing day Wednesday, producing a carryover jackpot of $1,425,670.10 for Thursday’s program at Gulfstream Park.
First-race post time for the 10-race card is set for 1:15 p.m.
A total of $301,307 was bet into the popular multi-race wager, which began with a pool of $1,353,381.21 carried over from Sunday’s card. Multiple tickets with all six winners Wednesday were each worth $1,016.10.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Since the 2018-19 Championship Meet kicked off Dec. 1, the Rainbow 6 has been hit seven times, most recently for a $227,505.88 payout Feb. 15.
There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $6,037.79 headed into Thursday’s card.
Thursday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 5-10 and will include a graded stakes-quality optional claiming allowance carded as Race 9.

Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s International Star, a multiple Grade 2-stakes winner, is slated to return from a 22-month layoff in Friday’s Race 9 feature, a 1 1/16-mile turf race, at Gulfstream Park. Although the 7-year-old son of Fusaichi Pegasus has enjoyed much success on dirt, including victories in the 2015 Risen Star (G2) and Louisiana Derby (G2), he began his career with a debut victory on turf at Belmont and, two starts later, captured the 2014 With Anticipation (G2) over Saratoga’s turf course. Trainer Michael Maker named Jose Ortiz to ride the come-backing stakes veteran.
Real Story, who captured the American Derby (G3) at Arlington Park last July, is set to make his first start since fading to ninth in the Arlington Million (G1) last August. Trainer Ignacio Correas gave Robby Albarado the mount. Speed Franco, who captured the Dania Beach (G3) during the 2017-2018 Championship Meet at Gulfstream, is scheduled to return from a 10-month layoff. Ticonderoga, the 2017 Palm Beach (G3) winner at Gulfstream, will make his first start since winning an optional claiming allowance at Saratoga last August.
Dragon Bay, a Grade 2 stakes winner at Woodbine in 2017, as well as, stakes winners Renaisance Frolic and Sand Dancer, are also entered in the eight-horse field.
Who’s Hot: Trainer Kathleen O’Connell saddled career wins No. 2056 and 2057 after saddling Hotsokie ($17.20) and Cotton Tooyah ($5.60 for victories in Race 4 and Race 7, respectively.
Jockey Miguel Vasquez doubled aboard Peggity ($3.60) in Race 2 and Rolling Bobby ($5) in Race 9.
