HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot went unsolved for the 25th consecutive racing day Thursday at Gulfstream Park as the carryover jackpot continued to swell to life-changing proportions.

The popular multi-race wager’s carryover jackpot stands at $2,062,709.88 for Friday’s 10-race program.
Multiple tickets will all six winners Thursday were each worth $260.44.

First-race post time for Friday’s card is set for 1:15 p.m.

A total of $386,165 was bet Thursday into the popular multi-race wager, which began with a pool of $1,970,071.42 carried over from Wednesday’s card.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Since the 2018-19 Championship Meet kicked off Dec.1, the Rainbow 6 has been hit seven times, most recently for a $227,505.88 payout Feb. 15.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 5-10, featuring a stakes-quality optional claiming allowance in Race 9. Multi-graded stakes winner Avery Island is scheduled to return from a 13-month layoff in the mile race for older horses. Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, the 4-year-old son of Street Sense has been idle since winning the 2018 Withers (G3) at Aqueduct. The Godolphin homebred also won the Nashua (G3) during his juvenile campaign.

Friday’s Stronach 5 will feature offer a $100,000 pool guarantee and an industry-low 12-percent takeout while featuring races at Gulfstream Park, Laurel Park and Golden Gate Fields.

Gulfstream’s Ron Nicoletti, Laurel’s Stanton Salter and Golden Gate’s Matt Dinerman have teamed to construct an All Star ticket for the increasing popular national multi-race, multi-track wager.

The Stronach 5 will kick off with Laurel’s Race 8 and Race 9, followed by Gulfstream’s Race 9 and Race 10, and conclude with Golden Gate’s Race 5. Post time for the first leg is scheduled for 4:43 p.m. with the fifth and final leg set for 6:15 p.m.

The minimum bet for the Stronach 5 is $1 through Laurel Park’s mutuel pool.

. If there are no tickets with five winners, the entire pool will be carried over to the next Friday.

Who’s Hot: Fresh off a five-win day Wednesday, Luis Saez rode three winners Thursday, scoring aboard Makealitlemischief ($5) in Race 5, Major Attitude ($9.80) in Race 6, and Frozen Hannah ($4.) in Race 10.

Leading rider Irad Ortiz Jr. maintained a seven win edge over Saez with back-to-back victories aboard Winning Drive ($7.60) in Race 8 and Devamani ($4.80) in Race 9.
