HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Bettors will have one last chance to take down a life-changing 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot Friday at Gulfstream Park before a mandatory payout of the popular multi-race wager as part of Saturday’s blockbuster 14-race, $1 million Xpressbet.com Florida Derby (G1) program.
The Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 29th consecutive racing day Thursday, growing the carryover jackpot to $2,536,890 for Friday’s 11-race card that features three stakes, two graded, beginning with a 1:15 p.m. first post.
A total of $339,852 was bet into Thursday’s Rainbow 6, which began with a carryover of $2,455,348.81 from the last live program Sunday, March 24. Multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $1,309.52.
Gulfstream Park racing analysts Ron Nicoletti and Acacia Courtney take an in-depth look at Friday’s Rainbow 6: https://youtu.be/ulB9exrULCI
Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 6-11 and includes the $100,000 Skip Away in Race 8, $100,000 Appleton (G3) in Race 9 and $100,000 Orchid (G3) in Race 10. The one-mile Appleton for 4-year-olds and up and the 1 3/8-mile Orchid for females 4 and older are both scheduled for the turf course.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Since the 2018-19 Championship Meet kicked off Dec. 1, the Rainbow 6 has been hit seven times, most recently for a $227,505.88 payout Feb. 15.
