Rainbow 6 Carryover Grows to $817,189 for Thursday
Live Racing Returns with 10-Race Card May 9
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Live racing returns to Gulfstream Park with a 10-race program Thursday, May 9 featuring a carryover jackpot of $817,189.50 in the 20-cent Rainbow 6.
Two longshots were live to take down the jackpot heading into Sunday’s 10th race finale, won by Joe Cain ($12.20). A total of $211,274 was bet into the popular multi-race wager on top of a carryover of $766.491.50 from Saturday.
Unsolved for 21 consecutive racing days, the Rainbow 6 returned $23,659.04 for multiple tickets with all six winners.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Thursday’s Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 5-10. Five races are scheduled for the turf, drawing a total of 55 horses, an average of 11 starters per race.
First-race post time is 1:15 p.m.
