TWO TURF COURSE TRACK RECORDS ECLIPSED TODAY

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, June 22, 2019) – Lone Star Park’s turf course saw two of its track record times eclipsed today. In the fifth race, a $15,000 claiming, Timothy C. Guidry’s Bam Bam Bryan ran seven and one half furlongs in 1:25.97 shattering the previous record of 1:26.66 which was set in 2018 by Ghurair. Bam Bam Bryan is trained by Karl Broberg and was ridden by C. J. McMahon. The 5-yr-old grey gelding finished 10 lengths in front of the others, grabbing his third win from as many starts this meet.

In the seventh race, a $10,000 claiming at five furlongs, it was longshot Texas Munny Man, ridden by Lane Luzzi, who finished on top in track record time of :54.97 seconds. The previous record was :55.09 set by Salty Wave in 2010. Texas Munny Man is trained by George Bryant and owned by David Rodwalt.

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Texas Partners LSP and Global Gaming LSP. The track offers a 44-day 2019 Thoroughbred Season, which opens Thursday, April 18 and concludes on Sunday, July 21. Live racing will be held select Thursdays and select Fridays at 6:35 p.m. Saturday and Sunday race programs start at 2:35 p.m. (except Sexton Mile Day, April 28, Triple Crown Days; May 4, May 18 & June 8 which all have a 1:35 p.m. start). A special twilight program will be held at 5:00 p.m. both on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5 (Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration).
