JEAN ELIZABETH RETURNS TO WIN THE ISAAC MURPHY MEMORIAL HANDICAP
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 6, 2019) –
Making her first start since November, Jean Elizabeth earned her second career stakes win in the Isaac Murphy Memorial Handicap Saturday at Arlington.
Breaking from post 5 with Jose Valdivia Jr. aboard, Jean Elizabeth sat just off pace setting Brittney On Blades who went the first quarter mile in 22.30 seconds. Turning for home, Jean Elizabeth took command after a 45.58 half-mile and powered home from there.
She went the six-furlong distance in a final time of 1:10.75.
“We really would have liked to get her back to the races sooner,” said winning trainer Larry Rivelli. “But the way things worked out we couldn’t get any preps in her. She’s a good horse and we’re looking forward to this year with her.”
Jean Elizabeth is the daughter of Adios Charlie, and is owned by V-leaf Stables Llc Richard Ravin and Larry Rivelli.
She has now won seven of her twelve career races and has won five of her seven attempts over the Arlington synthetic.
Jean Elizabeth paid $3.80 to win, $2.60 to place, and $2.20 to show. Second went to Joyful Night who had a rough trip and paid $2.80 to place and $2.20 to show. Third was Game Time Decision who paid $2.80 to show.
RICHIESINTHEHOUSE WINS EASILY IN THE ADDISON CAMMACK MEMORIAL HANDICAP
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 6, 2019) –
In his first start since fading and finishing sixth in the GIII Hanshin in May, Richiesinthehouse took command and bested a field of five in the Addison Cammack Memorial Handicap Saturday at Arlington.
Breaking from post 3 with Jose Valdivia Jr. aboard, Richiesinthehouse set the early pace going 22.57 seconds for a first quarter mile just clear of Recount who tried to press in second. Turning for home, Richiesinthehouse began sprinting away from the brief challenge of Whats Up Dude. Valdivia Jr. asked him briefly down the stretch and the pair went on to win the six furlong co-Saturday feature.
“He’s an easy horse to ride,” Valdivia Jr. said. “He sprints out of there but really takes a deep breath and relaxes. He has a high cruising speed and he stays very within himself. He could go 44 seconds for a half mile and he does it easily by himself.”
Owned by Richard Ravin and Patricia’s Hope LLC, Richiesinthehouse has now won eleven of his sixteen starts, and is now a perfect five for five going six furlongs,
“We tried to stretch him out and get him to go long last time and that didn’t work out,” said winning conditioner Larry Rivelli. “Sprinting on the Poly is just who he is, and that’s where he’s going to stay.”
Richiesinthehouse returned $4.80 to win, $3.60 to place, and $3.00 to show. Second was Bulldog Of Bergen who paid $7.60 to place and $3.40 to show. Rounding out the top three was Wile E Peyote who paid $2.40 to show.
