Friday’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Grows to $793,147
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 27th consecutive racing day Thursday at Gulfstream Park, producing a carryover jackpot of $793,147.53 for Friday’s 2 p.m. twilight program.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
The Rainbow 6 was last solved July 6, when one lucky bettor hit for a $173,583.90 jackpot payoff.
Multiple tickets with six winners Thursday were each worth $2.12. Races 6, 8 and 10 were taken off the turf due to afternoon showers.
Thursday’s sequence generated a Rainbow 6 handle of $123,636. The carryover jackpot stood at $763,478.25 at the start of wagering on the popular multi-race wager.
Friday’s sequence begins with the fifth race, a claiming event for fillies and mares at 5 ½ furlongs. The sequence also includes a maiden special weight event for 3-year-olds and up at a mile scheduled on the turf.
