Robust Trade Spurs Sale of $300,000 Maclean’s Music Colt
on Thursday at Keeneland September Yearling Sale

LEXINGTON, KY (Sept. 19, 2019) – Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale continued to produce healthy results on Thursday as Cromwell Bloodstock became the session’s leading buyer with the single purchase of a colt by Maclean’s Music for $300,000.
Eaton Sales, agent, consigned the colt, who is out of the Indian Charlie mare Woodford County and from the family of champion Queen of the Stage and Grade 1 winners Seeking the Gold and Fast Play.
On Thursday, Keeneland sold 305 horses for $8,827,600, for an average of $28,943 and a median of $20,000.
Cumulatively, 2,177 yearlings have grossed $352,001,300, for an average of $161,691 and a median of $80,000.
Solis/Litt paid $200,000 for a colt by Constitution out of stakes winner Cougarstown, by Speightstown. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, he is a half-brother to stakes winner Elevenses and from the family of Grade 2 winner and sire Diablo.
Mike Ryan, agent, went to $145,000 for a son of Palace Malice who is a half-brother to stakes-placed Flight Deck and Justleaveitalone. Out of the El Prado (IRE) mare Oval Cut, the colt is from the family of Canadian champions Catch the Ring and Catch the Thrill. He was consigned by Keith Lancaster, agent.
Gainesway was the session’s leading consignor by total sales with $1,342,000 for 30 yearlings.
The September Sale continues through Sunday with all sessions starting at 10 a.m. The entire sale is streamed live at Keeneland.com.
