Keeneland Sales Represented by 69 Entrants in Breeders’ Cup World Championships
39 horses from Keeneland Fall Meet also among entries
LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 29, 2019) – Sixty-nine Keeneland sales graduates and 39 horses that raced and/or trained here during Keeneland’s recent Fall Meet lead entries for the 36th Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Friday and Saturday at Santa Anita.
Through 2018, 105 graduates of Keeneland sales have won 114 Breeders’ Cup races. The winners of 48 Breeders’ Cup races made their final starts before the event during the Fall Meet.
Six of the 11 horses entered in Saturday’s $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) are Keeneland sales graduates. They include 3-1 morning-line favorite McKinzie.

Breeders’ Cup Simulcast Available at Red Mile
Keeneland invites racing fans to watch and wager on the Breeders’ Cup at Red Mile near downtown Lexington.
On Thursday, advance wagering on the full Friday and Saturday Breeders’ Cup cards will be available.
On Friday, a number of mutuel windows at Red Mile will open at 10 a.m. ET. The day’s Breeders’ Cup races will begin with the fourth of 10 races: Juvenile Turf Sprint (4:12 p.m.), Juvenile Turf (4:52 p.m.), Juvenile Fillies (5:32 p.m.), Juvenile Fillies Turf (6:12 p.m.) and Juvenile (7:03 p.m.).
Friday’s card will open with a $500,000 minimum guarantee Pick 5 on races 1-5; a Late Pick 5 with a $1 million guarantee on races 5-9; and an all-Breeders’ Cup Pick 4 on races 6-9 with a $1 million minimum guarantee.
On Saturday, a number of mutuel windows will open at 10 a.m. Red Mile’s clubhouse opens at 10:30 a.m. (no food; bar only).
Twelve races will be run Championship Saturday, which starts with three undercard races followed by Breeders’ Cup races: Filly and Mare Sprint (2:55 p.m.), Turf Sprint (3:33 p.m.), Dirt Mile (4:10 p.m.), Filly and Mare Turf (4:54 p.m.), Sprint (5:36 p.m.), Mile (6:20 p.m.), Distaff (7 p.m.), Turf (7:40 p.m.) and Classic (8:44 p.m.).
That day, there will be a $1 million guaranteed all-Breeders’ Cup Ultra Pick 6 on races 7-12; an all-Breeders’ Cup Late Pick 5 on races 8-12 with a $2 million guarantee; and a $2 million-guaranteed all-Breeders’ Cup Late Pick 4 on races 9-12.
