BLACK GOLD 5 REACHES $143,109 AT FAIR GROUNDS HEADING INTO THURSDAY

New Orleans (January 8, 2020) – The Black Gold 5 jackpot, a .50 cent minimum wager where bettors are required to pick the winners of the final five races of the day at Fair Grounds Race Course, has reached $143,109 heading into the ten race Thursday card. If you hold the only winning ticket, you take home the entire pot.

The sequence kicks off in race 6 with an estimated post time of 2:55 pm (CST).

The Black Gold 5 will include race 7, a $42,000 allowance race going five and one half furlongs on turf for fillies and mares that drew a field of nine. Trainer Mike Stidham will saddle Lake Local, who is the 7/2 morning line favorite with Florent Geroux aboard. Estimated post time for race 7 is 3:24 pm (CST)

Race 8, a $47,000 allowance race, drew a field of eight and will be run at six furlongs with an estimated post of 3:53 pm (CST). Trainer Al Stall Jr. will saddle Vomba with Colby Hernandez and is listed as the 3/1 morning line favorite.

First post for the Thursday card is 12:30 Pm (CST).
