New Orleans (January 15, 2020) – The Black Gold 5 jackpot, a .50 cent minimum wager where bettors are required to pick the winners of the final five races of the day at Fair Grounds Race Course, has reached $187,801 heading into the eleven race Thursday card. The jackpot is only paid out when there is only a single winning ticket

The sequence kicks off in race 7 with an estimated post time of 3:24 pm (CST).

Race 10 is a $42,000 allowance race going about one and one eighth miles on the turf course that drew a full field of eleven with one also eligible. Listed as the 3/1 morning line favorite, Steve Asmussen’s Keep Quiet will look for an improved performance after finishing sixth last time out in an allowance race at Fair Grounds. The 5-year-old daughter of Elusive City was the winner of the Dixiana Bourbon Stakes (G3) Keeneland in 2016. Keep Quiet will break from post 9 with Ricardo Santana Jr. aboard.

First post for the Thursday card is 12:30 pm (CST).
