New Orleans (January 16, 2020) – The Black Gold 5 jackpot, a .50 cent minimum wager where bettors are required to pick the winners of the final five races of the day at Fair Grounds Racecourse, has reached $208,660 heading into the nine race Friday card. The jackpot is only paid out when there is only a single winning ticket

The sequence kicks off in race 5 with an estimated post time of 2:26 pm (CST).

Race 8 is a $41,000 allowance race going about one mile on the turf course that drew a full field of eleven with five also eligibles. Listed as the 7/2 morning line favorite, Ginseng finished fourth over the summer at Saratoga in the P.G. Johnson Stakes. The 3-year-old daughter of Tiznow will look for career win number three after a solid second place effort last out in an allowance race at Fair Grounds. Colby Hernandez will be aboard for trainer Brad Cox as Ginseng breaks from post 3.

First post for the Friday card is 12:30 pm (CST).
